 I. The Origin of Sin

Two questions we will answer through Scripture:

-  Where did sin come from?

-  Why does God allow sin to exist? 

 

Three Foundational Truths:

1. God is not responsible for the sin that is in our lives and in the world! 

     a. Sin contradicts God’s design of us

     b. Sin contradicts God’s purpose for us

 

2. Satan is not responsible for the sin that is in our lives and in the world!

     a. Satan doesn’t possess the power to push us into sin

     b. Satan does possess the potential to persuade us to sin

 

3. We are responsible for the sin that is our lives and in the world! 

     a. Sin exists because of our desire to rid God of His rightful place. 

 

Why does God allow sin to exist?

- For His Glory

- For our Goodness
