Introduction

 

Vision is the ability to dream about the future and what could be.

 

BIG IDEA: A mountain-conquering, visionary faith is committed to and confident in the promises of God. 

 

1. People of Faith Have Confidence in God’s Word. (v. 6)

 

            patient with the promises of God (v. 7–8)

 

Quote: “Faith isn't primarily a function of how you feel. Faith is living out and believing what truth is despite what you feel.” —Tim Keller

 

Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

 

            personal confidence in God’s Word can be developed

 

1. spiritual maturity
2. mission of God

 

Matthew 16:18  And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

 

2. People of Faith Aren't Afraid of Challenging (vv. 8–12)

 

            a refusal to live by fear (v. 8)

 

1 Timothy 1:7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

 

            A relinquished will (v. 8)

 

            A resilient spirit (vv. 10–12)

 

            A recognition of risk (v. 12)

 

3. People of Faith Crave for Opportunities to Glorify God. (v. 9)
