Text: 1 Corinthians 15:1-19 (HCSB)
Pastor John Black
Listening Guide
1 Corinthians 15:3–5
3 For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve.
This is our hope!
Four assurances because of the resurrection of Jesus:
(1 Corinthians 15:12-19)
- The resurrection proves that our faith is trustworthy!
- The resurrection proves that our sins are forgiven!
- The resurrection provides life for believers who have died!
- The resurrection provides hope for our eternity!
_____________ needs this hope!

Listening Guide
Luke 19:41
As He [Jesus] approached and saw the city, He wept over it, saying, “If you knew this day what would bring peace – but now it is hidden from your eyes.”
Why this broken heart on this triumphant day?
- Jesus had clearly revealed His Deity
- Jesus had repeatedly called for Repentance
- Jesus had exposed the heart of His Enemies
- Jesus was foreseeing Jerusalem’s (His rejecters’) Future!
What does this mean for us?
- It’s not too late
- But . . . time is quickly passing by
Reflection Question
- Does your heart break when you look at the lost world?
